As chief financial officer at Quarles & Brady, Karen Mazin oversees accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, partner compensation, firm audit and tax issues, and risk management, including client intake and conflicts. Karen also leads the legal practice administration team, which works closely with the firm's practice groups and industry teams to manage their business operations. One of Karen’s key leadership principles is ensuring that everyone across her team embraces the firm’s collaborative culture and aligns their work with the firm’s strategic goals.
Additionally, Karen evaluates and manages the firm's financial systems to make sure they are meeting the ever-changing needs of our clients. She works with attorneys to provide analysis and benchmarks related to client, matter and practice group statistics.
Before joining Quarles & Brady, Karen spent eight years at a nationally recognized architecture firm where she served in a management role for the firm's finance and accounting department.
Karen received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan. She is a certified public accountant and a member of the AICPA and the WICPA.
