Kevin and his litigation team believe that diversity often matters more in litigation than in other matters and areas of law. Litigated matters are about establishing connections — with judges, jurors, clients, opposing counsel, adversaries, insurers, co-defendants, clerks, bailiffs, and each other. There is no recipe for making these connections; what is tremendously effective in one matter can be disastrous in the next, so knowing when and how to make those connections is the trick. Quarles’ commitment to diversity helps Kevin and his fellow litigators understand how to put their partners, colleagues, and other professionals in the right positions, at the right times, to serve clients best.

As the national chair of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, one of the firm’s largest, Kevin is fully invested in building a diverse team. He has championed the virtues and business advantages of diversity both as chair of Litigation and as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. In an industry in which solutions are the product, Kevin recognizes that the more perspectives there are on any given issue, the more and better the potential results. Furthermore, where fairness is the ideal outcome of every matter, Kevin understands that fairness must permeate the very culture of the service provider.
