Emily Stedman Joins Milwaukee Debate League Board of Directors

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Quarles & Brady LLP is pleased to announce that Emily Stedman has joined the Milwaukee Debate League (MDL) Board of Directors.

MDL's mission is to measurably improve students’ academic achievement and their expectations of themselves by engaging in rigorous academic policy debate. Through spirited competition, students have the opportunity to become articulate and informed leaders in their schools, and effective advocates for themselves, their families, and their community. Currently, there are seven high schools and seven middle schools that participate in the program.

Emily stated, “I’m excited to join the Milwaukee Debate League. The League provides city youth a meaningful activity that has measurable impact on students’ futures. I’m thrilled to contribute to its success.”

Tim G. Schally, Board President, said, “As someone who has worked with students prior to her law career, Emily will bring a new and welcome perspective and energy to the Board.”

Stedman is a member of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group. She represents and counsels clients in general commercial matters. Prior to joining the firm, Emily served as a judicial clerk for Judge Pamela Pepper in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

She received her bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Wake Forest University, and her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
