Janine Landow-Esser Receives President’s Lifetime Volunteer Service Award09/25/12
CHICAGO, ILL. - The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Janine Landow-Esser, a partner in the firm's Chicago office, received the President's Lifetime Volunteer Service Award at the Keep Chicago Beautiful 25th Anniversary Vision Awards Dinner on September 13.
The President's Council partnered with Keep Chicago Beautiful to honor Landow-Esser with the President's Lifetime Volunteer Service Award. The award recognizes the valuable contributions a volunteer makes in their community and the country through volunteer service. Landow-Esser serves as vice chairman and education chair of Keep Chicago Beautiful and has served on the board since 2008.
Landow-Esser concentrates her practice on environmental and OSHA law. She advises buyers, sellers and lenders in environmental aspects of various transactions, and represents manufacturers and other regulated entities on environmental and OSHA compliance issues. Landow-Esser also has extensive experience before state and federal agencies and administrative bodies, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ("EPA"), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA"), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and various state regulatory bodies throughout the United States.
She frequently speaks and writes on environmental, OSHA and insurance topics and has made numerous presentations to industry associations on topics such as insurance claims and coverage, litigation management, and state voluntary cleanup programs. In addition to her work with Keep Chicago Beautiful, Landow-Esser also volunteers with The Night Ministry and as a mentor with Perspectives Charter School intern program and Chicago Scholars. She also serves as chair of Anshe Emet Hunger Task Force and co-chair of the firm's Diversity Committee. Earlier this year, Landow-Esser was also selected as a 2012 "Chicago Women in Law: Women Making an Impact" recipient by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company. She received her law degree, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin.
