Naples Attorney Ashley Sykes Accepted into 2018 GAIN Program01/03/18
NAPLES, FLA. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Ashley E. Sykes, an attorney in the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group in Naples, has been accepted into the Growing Associates in Naples (GAIN) Class of 2018.
GAIN is a program of the non-profit Leadership Collier Foundation under the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce. It is specifically designed for emerging young leaders and professionals in Collier County. Participants learn about the local history, government, election structures, charitable foundations and other resources so that graduates can become involved and be an effective contributor in the community.
Sykes has experience in a wide range of employment-related matters and advises employers on issues related to employee hiring, discipline and discharge; covenants not to compete and trade secret protections; discrimination and harassment charges; employee policies and handbooks; leave and accommodation issues; and on day-to-day workplace compliance matters. Sykes represents clients in state and federal court as well as before various administrative agencies in litigation concerning employment discrimination and enforcement of non-compete agreements, as well as other areas of employment law.
Prior to joining Quarles & Brady, Sykes served as a legal intern with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a branch of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Sykes earned her law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law (cum laude) and her undergraduate degree (cum laude) from Central Michigan University.
