Quarles & Brady Adds Jeffery Phillips as Senior Counsel to its Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditor’s Rights Practice Group

MADISON, WIS. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Jeffery P. Phillips has joined the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditor’s Rights Practice Group in the role as Senior Counsel in its Madison office.

Phillips focuses his practice on representation of debtors and creditors in Chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 proceedings, including non-dischargeability actions and other adversary matters. His creditor practice includes negotiating terms for creditors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 plans and vendor agreements in receivership proceedings under Wisconsin Statute 128. Phillips advises clients on contract compliance with Wisconsin Consumer Act and provisions of the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (ATCP).

A significant portion of Phillips practice is dedicated to state and federal litigation, defending clients in actions under Wisconsin Consumer Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and litigating foreclosure matters for both mortgage lenders and homeowners.

Phillips is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and volunteers with the Legal Action of Wisconsin’s Volunteer Lawyer Project. He is also former chair and vice-chair of Wisconsin District Bankruptcy Bar. For the past five years, Phillips has been recognized in Super Lawyers Rising Stars.

Phillips received his Bachelor of Arts at University of Michigan and his Doctor of Law at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
