Quarles & Brady Adds Two New Hires to its Management Team

MILWAUKEE, WIS. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Elizabeth "Liz" Byrne has joined the firm as Chief Business Development Officer, and Andrew Hargitt has joined the firm as Chief Human Resources Officer. Byrne will be based in the firm’s Chicago office, while Hargitt will work in the Milwaukee Office.

“Quarles is honored to have both Liz and Andrew join its management team,” said firm chair Kimberly Leach Johnson. “With their experience working at large national and international law firms, we are confident that they will be exceptional additions to our firm and contribute to its continuing growth.”

“I am excited to be a part of Quarles & Brady,” said Byrne. “I was impressed with Quarles’ work and reputation before joining, and I look forward to contributing my ideas and experience to the business development team and the firm.”

“It’s a pleasure to continue my career at Quarles & Brady,” said Hargitt. “I look forward to collaborating with the rest of the management team and building on the firm’s success.”

Byrne brings to her position more than 15 years of marketing and business development experience for professional service firms. She has worked at law firms across the United States and in Europe, implementing firmwide strategic, business development, coaching, marketing and public relations plans for organizations ranging from 200-plus lawyers to the largest law firm in the world. Byrne received her B.A. from Davidson College in 1996 and her M.A. in Music Composition from The University of Colorado at Boulder in 1998.

Hargitt joins Quarles & Brady from Seyfarth Shaw, where he established the 700-attorney firm’s first national human resources department, established a single health care plan for the nine-office network, managed and optimized the firm’s 401k plan and supervised the creation of an online performance review process, among the development and oversight of other high-end HR functions. Previous to that, he spent 16 years at the American Bar Association, steadily working his way upward from Assistant Director of Employee Relations to Director of Human Resources. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Hargitt is M.B.A.-trained, with an emphasis in Human Resources and Industrial Relations, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology. He also is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources.
