Quarles & Brady Names Long and Zelenovskiy as Milwaukee Office Managing Partners01/16/19
MILWAUKEE, WIS. — The national law firm Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that partners Kevin Long and Katya Zelenovskiy have been selected as the new Milwaukee office managing partners. They will lead the local office while Mike Aldana is the national managing partner leading the 500-lawyer law firm. Their term begins January 15, 2019.
Kevin Long and Katya Zelenovskiy succeed Katie Perhach in this role. Perhach was recently appointed by the U.S. Court of Appeals to serve a 14-year term as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
“With our goals and strategies for firm growth, it will be valuable to have both Katya and Kevin serving in this leadership capacity at our largest office,” said Michael Aldana, the national managing partner for the firm. “Both Katya and Kevin have strong business backgrounds as a CPA and an MBA, respectively, in addition to being exceptional lawyers. They bring great business acumen to our office leadership structure.”
Katya Zelenovskiy practices in the firm's Business Law Practice Group assisting private equity clients and middle market family-owned businesses with complex commercial transactions. Katya also uses her extensive corporate law experience to serve as a trusted advisor to owners and senior executives on a broad spectrum of business issues. Prior to entering the practice of law, Katya spent over 10 years in finance. Her range of expertise includes M&A, joint ventures, corporate governance, technology and e-commerce, and more. She earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School and bachelor's degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Katya is active in the business and non-profit community and volunteers with the Sojourner Family Peace Center and Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic.
Kevin Long, a partner at the firm who earned his law degree, MBA and bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Marquette University, is a litigator in the areas of real estate, construction and commercial litigation. He served as the national chair of Q&B's commercial litigation group from 2008 through 2016 and is a member of the firm's executive committee. He is active in many state and national legal associations and is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, a board member of the St. Thomas More Society Milwaukee Chapter and the Brian Hanley Fund as well as being a past Trustee and Finance Chair at Holy Family Parish in Whitefish Bay. Kevin has been named the Milwaukee Real Estate Litigation Lawyer of the Year by the Best Lawyers in America and was named to the Pro Bono Honor Society of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
