Quarles & Brady Welcomes Two Trusts & Estates Attorneys to its Chicago Office

CHICAGO, ILL. - The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced the addition of Ruth A. Pivar and Michele K. Malis, both of counsel, to the firm's substantial Chicago office Trusts & Estates Practice Group. Both were previously with Ungaretti & Harris LLP.

Pivar and Malis both practice in the area of sophisticated estate planning for entrepreneurial and family business clients. They work with high-net-worth clients relative to all forms of wealth preservation and planning.

Pivar specifically advises clients in the areas of transfer tax, charitable giving, dependent parent/child planning, insurance and retirement planning. She also has extensive experience in representing taxpayers in estate, gift and income tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Tax Court, the Court of Claims and the U.S. District Court. She earned her law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Malis advises clients on estate planning; estate and trust administration; income, estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning; closely held business planning; and related issues with respect to preserving and transmitting wealth within families. She earned her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California.
