Rodney Ott Recognized as “Outstanding VLP Liaison” by Volunteer Lawyers Program06/11/21
Phoenix — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Rodney Ott, of counsel in the firm’s Phoenix office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group, has been recognized as an “Outstanding VLP Liaison” by the Volunteer Lawyers Program for his pro bono work in Maricopa County, Ariz.
The Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP) is a division of Community Legal Services in partnership with the Maricopa County Bar Association. The VLP provides attorneys and law-related staff with opportunities to provide pro bono representation, brief advocacy, legal advice and education to clients.
Ott serves on the VLP Advisory Committee and is the current VLP liaison to Quarles & Brady. In his role as a member of the VLP Advisory Committee, Ott provides advice to the program about recruitment, support, training and recognition of pro bono attorneys. As the firm liaison, Ott encourages others to participate in VLP efforts and coordinates work with other Quarles & Brady attorneys.
A VLP volunteer since 2005, Ott has provided provide pro bono advice or representation to many clients who cannot afford to hire attorneys. He has worked on diverse cases that include helping families with consumer, home ownership and adult guardianship needs; representing consumers against malicious used car dealers; and assisting with adult guardianship and probate court procedures.
