Sherina Edwards to Participate in Chicago Executive #ShareTheMicNow Initiative07/06/20
CHICAGO — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP is pleased to announce that Sherina Maye Edwards, a Partner in the firm's Energy, Environment & Natural Resources practice group, will participate in The Executives' Club of Chicago and I Choose the Ladder partnership #ShareTheMicNow initiative.
#ShareTheMicNow was created to amplify the voices of Black women and to broaden awareness and understanding of their stories and experiences. In doing so, the Executives’ Club of Chicago and I Choose the Ladder have enlisted white local female executives to turn over their social networks to expand the reach of Black female executives so others can get to know them and learn from their experiences. Edwards has been paired with Linda Imonti, KPMG Office Managing Principal, and will record a conversation about their respective experiences that will be posted on both their social media channels on July 10, 2020.
Edwards focuses her practice on electric reliability, water, natural gas and critical infrastructure issues. She has experience analyzing, formulating, and implementing public policy at the state level and with issues affecting the energy and public utility industry including grid modernization, natural gas infrastructure, cybersecurity, reliability and supplier and workforce diversity.
Beyond her legal career, Edwards is the founder of both the Women’s Energy Summit and the Women’s Energy Network of Chicago. Additionally, as a former Illinois Commerce Commissioner, she had a strong influence over the creation of the Illinois Utilities Business Diversity Council and the ICC’s Office of Diversity and Community Affairs. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Spelman College and a Juris Doctor from Howard University.
