Wisconsin Law Journal Selects Two Quarles & Brady Attorneys as Up and Coming Lawyers10/31/13
MILWAUKEE, WIS. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced the Wisconsin Law Journal designated Ruhee Divgi of the Milwaukee office and Matthew Fortney of the Madison office as Up and Coming Lawyers.
The Up and Coming designation is given to attorneys with eight years or less of legal experience who have worked to improve the legal system and given of themselves to their communities. Up and Coming Lawyers are selected for their zeal in the legal practice and the positive influence they have on those around them. Award recipients were honored for their selection during a ceremony at the Milwaukee Harley-Davidson Museum on September 26. To view Divgi’s video click here and to view Fortney’s video click here.
Divgi is an associate in the firm’s Corporate Services Group where her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, alcohol beverage law matters and other general corporate matters. Divgi has represented both buyers and sellers (strategic and financial) in a number of acquisition and divestiture transactions, including transactions with values over $100 million and international implications. Divgi is a 2007 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School.
“It is a tremendous honor to be selected for this award,” said Divgi. “It’s a privilege to be named among these legal colleagues in our area.”
Fortney is an associate in the Madison office, specializing in real estate law. He has represented clients covering a wide range or issue, including purchase and sales, land use matters, commercial lease negotiations, and construction contracting. Fortney is also a magna cum laude graduate of the Northwestern University School of Law.
“I thank the Wisconsin Law Journal for this recognition,” said Fortney. “The Up and Coming Award represents so many great qualities in the legal profession, and it is an honor to be a part of such a select group.”
“It’s no surprise to us that Ruhee and Matthew were selected for the Up and Coming Award,” said Quarles & Brady chairman Kimberly Leach Johnson. “Having rising stars like them in our ranks helps ensure that the futures of our firm and our clients are in great hands.”
