Working Mother Honors Quarles & Brady as One of the 2019 "Best Law Firms for Women"

News Release

Milwaukee — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Working Mother has named the firm as one of the 2019 "Best Law Firms for Women," in recognition of its best practices in recruiting, retaining, promoting and developing women lawyers.

Quarles & Brady was among the 60 firms that earned spots on this year’s list. The list highlights law firms that averaged 37 percent women among new equity partners, compared with only 27 percent five years ago. The recognized firms also offer extended parental-leave benefits and encourage more lawyers to work remotely and use flexible hours.

"As a working mother, I've seen first-hand how Quarles & Brady supports family and having children," said Lindsey Davis, attorney with the firm's Labor & Employment practice. "The firm's care goes beyond 12 weeks of paid leave for new parents and remote access so I can balance work and family commitments."

"My practice group was proactive with a plan for winding down when my daughter was born and had meaningful work for me when I returned. Even more exciting, and a testament to the culture at Quarles & Brady, my colleagues and leaders within my office celebrated with my growing family. Quarles & Brady values my contributions, offers opportunities and supports my commitment to meeting both my career and my family goals. I can make a life-long career here."

The 2019 Working Mother Best Law Firms for Women application, administered by the Working Mother Research Institute, includes more than 300 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women.

"We are thrilled to once again be recognized by Working Mother because we are committed to promoting and supporting women attorneys." said Darlene Austin, director of diversity, employee relations and corporate social responsibility for Quarles & Brady. "Quarles & Brady is proud of the contributions our female attorneys provide and will continue to support them through our practices and policies."
