Agency Power and Authority in Current Affairs
The upcoming CLE will cover "Agency Power and Authority in Current Affairs," with a focus on key regulatory bodies such as the FDIC, FTC, the recent enactment of proposed Non-Compete Clause rules by such bodies and the current state of affairs of such rules in different state courts. The discussion will include a brief examination of the CFPB bureau, segueing into recent SCOTUS decisions that significantly impact agency authority and power, including Consumer Financial Protection Bureau v. Community Financial Services Association of America, Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo (which overturned the Chevron Doctrine), and Post, Inc. v. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
Continuing Legal Education:
After the program, Quarles will apply for 1.0 hours of general continuing legal education credit in U.S. jurisdictions where applicable.
