Imran Naeemullah will be a moderator and panelist at the 36th Annual RPTE National CLE Conference hosted by the American Bar Association on May 10. His presentation titled, "Options for Opining: Fundamentals of Real Estate Legal Opinions," will provide a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of issuing legal opinions to facilitate real estate finance transactions, including common (and not so common) pitfalls to avoid in issuing such opinions. Topics include:

  • The overall framework of an opinion letter
  • Assumptions to state and the rationale for doing so
  • Opinions that are commonly requested and given (and some not so common ones)
  • Limitations on the opinion letter and why these must be stated
  • Pitfalls in issuing opinion letters – what to avoid, how to spot potential issues, and strategies for addressing concerns raised by the opinion recipient.
