Below is an excerpt:

Oshkosh moved to dismiss its lawsuit against Brookfield-based Decade Properties, current owner of the long-shuttered Pioneer Resort, under an undisclosed settlement, Winnebago County Circuit Court records show. Winnebago County Circuit Court Judge John Jorgensen dismissed the case May 26.

Eric Van Schyndle, an attorney for Decade and associate at Milwaukee firm Quarles and Brady, said the city's agreement allows all sides — the city, Decade and a prospect buyer — to improve the decaying property.

"It's in everybody's best interest," Van Schyndle said. "Long-term, the city gets the property developed, long-term the (buyer) gets the property and long-term Decade can move on to other ventures."
