Four Quarles & Brady Attorneys Named 2014 Legal Eagles by Franchise Times

MILWAUKEE, WIS. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that partners Andrew P. Beilfuss, David A. Beyer, John F. Dienelt and Jeffrey H. Wolf have been named Legal Eagles for 2014 by Franchise Times magazine. 

Legal Eagle honorees are attorneys who are viewed as the best franchise lawyers, at the top of their games, nominated by their peers, clients and the Franchise Times’ editorial board as the rainmakers, go-to lawyers and ethical problem solvers in the franchise community. They speak at industry events and legal symposiums, win court cases, write seamless contracts and documents, and otherwise meet the evaluation criteria of the Franchise Times editorial panel. This year, 193 lawyers in the U.S. were named and will be featured in the April issue of Franchise Times magazine.

Beilfuss is a member of the firm’s Milwaukee office and is a member of the Franchise & Distribution Team. His practice focuses on franchise and distribution law. Beilfuss is a litigator, but also frequently advises clients on litigation avoidance, contract drafting, regulatory issues, and other aspects of franchise and distribution relationships. Beilfuss is the founder and chair of the International Franchise Association's Wisconsin Franchised Business Network, the immediate past co-chair of Quarles & Brady LLP's national Franchise and Distribution Team, and has been twice elected to the governing body for the State Bar of Wisconsin. He has been recognized as a "Rising Star" in Franchise and Distribution Law and Business Litigation by Wisconsin Super Lawyers® magazine and as one of twenty "Up and Coming" attorneys in the State of Wisconsin by The Wisconsin Law Journal in 2010. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from Marquette University Law School and his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Beyer is managing partner of the firm’s Tampa office and is a member of the Franchise & Distribution Team. His practice concentrates on organizing and structuring franchise and other distribution programs; negotiating and preparing complex franchise, sub-franchise and distribution agreements; and representing franchisors and subfranchisors in compliance with franchise disclosure and registration laws. He also represents franchisors on technology-related issues, including website development, e-commerce, cybersquatting and channel conflict. Beyer has been selected consistently for several years for inclusion in the International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers by Who’s Who Legal, The Best Lawyers in America® and Florida Super Lawyers® lists. In 2013, he was named to Chambers USA® for franchising. As a leader in the development of franchise law in Florida, he has served multiple terms as chairman of the Franchise Law Committee of The Florida Bar. Beyer earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Tulane University.

Dienelt is a member of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He is a litigator with 30 years of trial and appellate experience, particularly in franchising, antitrust, intellectual property and other commercial cases. He concentrates on complex and enterprise-threatening litigation, including class actions. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® consistently since 2003 for Franchise Law, was named a Best Lawyers® 2014 Washington, D.C. Franchise Law “Lawyer of the Year” and was selected for inclusion in the 2013 Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers® list for Franchise/Dealership. He speaks regularly at programs on franchising and teaches franchise law as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and at the University of Virginia Law School. He earned his law degree from Yale Law School, holds a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.

Wolf also is a member of the Franchise & Distribution Team, in the firm’s Phoenix office. His national litigation practice focuses on representing franchisors in complex cases, including the defense of class actions. For nearly 25 years, Wolf has handled a variety of cases involving terminations, transfers, rights of first refusal, the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, trademark infringement, franchisee associations and unfair competition. Wolf has been named to the International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers by Who’s Who Legal, The Best Lawyers in America® and Southwest Super Lawyers® lists consistently for several years and was named by Southwest Super Lawyers® as one of the Top 50 attorneys in Arizona in its 2012 and 2013 editions. He earned his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his undergraduate degree from the University of Hartford.
