Joshua Rees Joins Quarles & Brady's Tucson Office as Senior Counsel

February 23, 2022 (Tucson, Ariz.) — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that senior counsel Joshua Rees has joined the firm's Tucson office in the Energy, Infrastructure & Environment and Indian Law & Policy practice groups.

Rees focuses his practice on renewable energy projects as well as a variety of Indian law issues for tribal clients. he has been involved in complex negotiations regarding Indian water rights settlements, mining on tribal lands and negotiations for intergovernmental agreements and contracts. Rees has extensive experience in human resources, tribal economic development and a myriad of other issues as it pertains to tribal governance and tribal operations.

Before joining Quarles & Brady, Rees served as the deputy attorney general of the Tohono O'odham Nation in Sells, Ariz., and an in-house attorney for the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and the Ho-Chunk Nation Trial Court. He holds an Associate of Arts from Brigham Young University-Idaho, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and a Juris Doctor as well as a Bachelor of Civil Law from Louisiana State University-Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
