Quarles and The Veterans Consortium Host Annual Veterans Day Pro Bono Attorney Training
Quarles & Brady LLP is partnering with The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program (TVC) to once again host their annual Veterans Day training session to teach attorneys how to help veterans appeal unfavorable decisions by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
The training is November 12 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Eastern, both in person and at the Quarles Washington, D.C., office and virtually via webinar. No expertise is required, and each volunteer will be assigned a TVC mentor. The training session is free but advance registration is required.
Any attorney interested in learning more about supporting veterans needs through TVC can register at this link.
In the training, which qualifies for continuing legal education credit, participants will learn how to help veterans with a variety of issues, including U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims practice and procedure, service-connected disability compensation, disability pension, dependency and indemnity compensation, the VA claims process, commonly raised VA errors on appeal, settlement issues and more.
“TVC’s mission of ensuring that our country’s veterans get the care, benefits and compensation they were promised is critically important and we’re honored to have the opportunity to help them,” said Tom McDonell, Quarles Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner who leads the firm’s long-standing relationship with TVC. “This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans, and this training will give you everything you need to know to contribute to TVC’s track record of high success rates on their cases.”
