As I travel across the country, I’m often asked what’s new in the legal industry. One of the most interesting trends I see is how the industry is expanding. Research shows that the monetary spend on law firms is flat and has been so for the last five years. This probably does not come as a surprise to those of us practicing law. The surprising part is that legal industry spend as a whole is growing by as much as 30%. Where are clients spending their money if not with law firms?
