Kristin Occhetti assists individuals, executives, business owners and other professionals with estate planning and wealth transfer and preservation strategies. She is especially knowledgeable in preparing estate plans for people with disabled beneficiaries and potential guardianship needs. Kristin also advises personal representatives, trustees and beneficiaries in complex probate and trust administrations. She is experienced at:
- Finding creative ways to reform outdated or impractical irrevocable trusts while keeping the donor’s original intent intact.
- Handling fiduciary litigation, representing parties in trust and estate disputes.
- Preparing federal estate tax returns and defending the same against IRS audits.
- Counseling clients on charitable giving matters and preparing gifting vehicles.

Experience in Action
- Represents parties to fiduciary litigation on a variety of claims, including breach of fiduciary duty, and undue influence and lack of testamentary capacity, always with the initial objective of reaching a satisfactory settlement without going to trial.
- Prepares estate plans for high-net-worth individuals, consisting of wills, trusts, marital property agreements, financial powers of attorney and health care powers of attorney.
- Counsels corporate and individual trustees and personal representatives of their fiduciary duties, and beneficiaries of their rights, in trust and estate administrations.
