Lauren Elliott Stine represents clients in litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. Advising a diverse range of clients, including municipalities, national law firms, financial institutions, construction companies and real estate companies, Lauren prosecutes and defends in a variety of disputes related to:

Lauren collaborates closely with her clients, both to understand their immediate and long-term business objectives and to ensure their interests are vigorously protected and advanced in litigation.

Lauren has presented oral argument at the Ninth Circuit and Divisions One and Two of the Arizona Court of Appeals. She is the co-chair of the Health Care Litigation team and Phoenix office chair for the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group.

Experience in Action

  • Representing business and public sector clients in complex disputes and appellate matters.
  • Advising health care providers and professionals, pharmaceutical wholesalers and hospitals on a variety of issues, including complex contract, alleged fraud, 340B pricing, government subpoenas and investigations, and deceptive advertising and business matters.
  • Defending clients in professional liability litigation, including officers and directors matters.
  • Advising on a broad range of appeals and special action matters.
  • Counseling clients on preserving issues for appeal and in post-judgment proceedings.
  • Assisting clients in responding to government subpoenas and investigations.

Successes

Commercial Litigation

  • Defended Arizona municipalities against breach of contract and intentional interference claims arising out of real estate developments.
  • Defended national law firms against professional negligence, breach of contract and racketeering claims.
  • Represented financial institutions in loan default, breach of guaranty, quiet title, deed reformation and lender liability matters.

Appellate Matters

  • Appeared as counsel of record and/or on the briefs in more than 25 appeals and special actions, including in the Arizona Supreme Court, the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Health Care Litigation

  • Defended wholesale distributor in breach of contract action arising out of administration of pharmacy 340B program.
  • Defended wholesale distributor in court and administrative proceedings involving state Medicaid agency.
  • Represented hospital in actions involving breach of participation agreements arising out of health plan's application of Medicare sequestration.
