About Margaret

Public finance assistance for municipalities and school districts

Margaret Callan assists bond counsel in the delivery of legal opinions related to the issuance of debt for local government, from sophisticated borrowers to first-time issuers, to aid in their financing needs for a range of projects. Margaret handles a variety of issues and has an emphasis in:

  • Municipal revenue backed and general obligation debt issuances
  • Tax-exempt and taxable financings
  • Advanced and current refundings
  • USDA Rural Utility Service loans

Committed to pro bono service, Margaret provides legal aid for Afghan refugee seekers and has assisted in the completion of multiple asylum applications. She also regularly volunteers at a clinic hosted by the Sojourner Family Peace Center, advocating for victims of domestic violence and harassment and assisting them in filing restraining orders.
