Sarah R. Anchors, Partner


Sarah Anchors practices general commercial litigation, with a focus on lender liability, consumer protection statutes, and insurance policyholder representation. She has obtained dismissal for lending clients of lawsuits, affirmed on several occasions on appeal by borrowers seeking to stop foreclosure. She has also represented lenders in obtaining deficiency judgments and in settlements, and defeating contractual and tort counterclaims. Businesses are subject to a growing barrage of class action claims under consumer protection statutes, such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Ms. Anchors works with clients to comply with the rigors of such regulations, and to obtain dismissal, judgment or favorable settlement of consumers’ claims. Ms. Anchors has assisted insurance policyholders in obtaining coverage for claims and worked on bad-faith claims. Recently, she has presented on the emerging field of insurance coverage for data breaches and cybersecurity risks. Additionally, Ms. Anchors has experience representing lenders and businesses in eminent domain actions.
