Wei Yan prosecutes domestic and international patents and also counsels clients on freedom-to-operate opinions, invalidity, patent due diligence and landscaping. His experience includes preparing, drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications regarding small molecule pharmaceuticals, bioactive molecules, conjugates, cleaning composition, ink formulations, chemical sensors, coatings, electrochemical devices, fuel cells and nanomaterials. Wei primarily represents clients in the following industries:

Prior to his legal career, Wei earned a Ph.D. in chemistry and has in-depth knowledge in organic and bioanalytical chemistry. His academic research focused on phospholipase, biological membrane, lipid metabolism, nutritional science, obesity and diabetes. Wei’s technical strengths include organic chemistry, bioanalytical methods, mass spectrometry, lipid chemistry, polymer materials, chromatography, proteins, nucleic acids, cellular signaling, metabolic diseases and nutrition.
