The firm will be honored with this award on September 11 during the 2014 Volunteer Recognition & Awards Event in Washington, D.C.
The Exceptional Service Award is given to law firms selected by their colleagues for going above and beyond in the service of death row prisoners. These efforts are in line with the ABA Death Penalty Representation Project’s mission, which strives to increase the quality and availability of legal representation for this population of inmates.
Quarles & Brady has been representing prisoners on death row for 32 years, and currently has three clients facing the death penalty.
“It is truly an honor for our firm to receive this award,” said Mike Gonring, Firm Pro Bono Coordinator. “Everyone has the right to fair legal representation, and we are grateful to join the ABA Death Penalty Representation Project and others in the ongoing effort to ensure this is the case.”
