Joseph Poehlmann, Associate

Joe Poehlmann helps clients navigate complex commercial disputes by delivering practical and business-minded solutions. He applies this approach to a variety of legal challenges facing businesses today and understands that every challenge presents unique considerations deserving of equally unique solutions. As an associate in Quarles & Brady’s Commercial Litigation practice, Joe has significant experience litigating clients’ disputes in state and federal courts, while always endeavoring to help clients identify and address potential disruptions before they arrive.

In addition to his general commercial litigation practice, Joe's recent experience includes:

  • Defended brokers and agents against professional liability claims in both state and federal courts around the country;
  • Represented policyholders in connection with insurance claims, both in managing loss and litigating against insurers;
  • Defended against a nationwide putative class action alleging antitrust claims;
  • Resolved multiple corporate shareholder disputes, both through litigation and pre-litigation negotiations;
  • Successfully litigated and negotiated probate and estate claims; and
  • Obtained injunctions against former employees and third-parties for clients.

Joe is also actively involved in his community and the firm’s pro bono efforts. Currently, he directs the firm’s domestic abuse pro bono clinic, in partnership with the Sojourner Family Peace Center and Marquette University Law School, through which volunteer attorneys represent survivors in pursuit of injunctions against alleged abusers.
