Quarles & Brady Attorney Appointed to Wisconsin Governor-Elect’s Public Service Commission

MILWAUKEE — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that partner Rebecca Cameron Valcq has been appointed to Governor-Elect Tony Evers’ Public Service Commission. Beginning on January 8, 2019, Valcq will begin her six-year term.

“I’m honored to have been selected by Governor-Elect Tony Evers for this position,” says Valcq. “I’m grateful for the support from my colleagues and friends at Quarles & Brady as I make this transition to public service.”

Valcq currently is a partner in the firm’s Energy, Environment & Natural Resources practice group. She is an experienced regulatory attorney and focuses her practice on energy and utility matters.

As a member of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, Valcq will assist in deciding the cases brought to the Commission for changes in utility operations, rates and for construction projects after a complete and thorough review of all the records compiled in the case. Commissioners are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate.

“We congratulate Rebecca on Governor-elect Evers' recognition of her abilities and experience in appointing her to the Public Service Commission.  She's been a terrific partner here at Quarles, and we are confident that she will be a great public servant for the Commission and the State of Wisconsin,” said Michael Aldana, managing partner of Quarles & Brady.
