Jeff Peelen Named National Chair of Quarles' Public Finance Practice Group

News Release

Milwaukee — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Jeff Peelen, a partner in the firm's Milwaukee office, has been named national chair of the Public Finance Practice Group.

Peelen succeeds Rebecca Speckhard, who has served as national chair of the practice group since 2015. Speckhard will continue her public finance practice in Milwaukee.

"I'm grateful for Rebecca's fantastic and dedicated leadership over the past seven years and I look forward to building upon the team’s success," said Peelen. "As one of the largest public finance law practices in the country and the largest in Wisconsin, it is an honor to get the nod to lead such a talented group."

Peelen represents multiple regional and national underwriters in tax-exempt debt and revenue financings across the country.

"I thank Rebecca for her remarkable leadership and client focus and I'm thrilled Jeff has agreed to lead the Public Finance team," said Mike Aldana, firm chair and managing partner. " Jeff has been at Quarles since he started his law career and has held various leadership roles, including as a member of the Executive Committee and past chair of the Public Finance Group. I know our Public Finance team will continue to demonstrate its excellence during Jeff's second stint at the helm."

Peelen is currently listed on Best Lawyers in America® (Government Relations Practice, Public Finance Law) and was Best Lawyers® 2021 Milwaukee Public Finance Law "Lawyer of the Year." He is on the board of directors for United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County. Peelen holds a Bachelor of Science from Marquette University and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
