Quarles & Brady’s Indianapolis Office Partners with Indy Fuel to support the American Lung Association in Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that the Indianapolis office is again raising funds for the American Lung Association in Indiana (ALA), this time by partnering with the Indy Fuel hockey team. All proceeds from ALA group ticket sales to the January 28, 2017, Fuel vs. Quad City Mallards game will go to support ALA and the Quarles Climbers Fight for Air Stair Climb team. “On behalf of the American Lung Association, we thank the Indy Fuel and Quarles & Brady, Indianapolis for their support of our Fight for Air stair climb,” said ALA Executive Director, Tanya Husain. “Ninety cents of every dollar raised in this partnership will stay right here in Indiana and will go directly to programs and research to help save lives by improving lung health and the quality of the air we breathe.”
This initiative is aligned with the firm's Quarles Cares program, which supports causes and nonprofits chosen by attorneys and staff in each office—with a particular focus on hunger and education. Last year with the combined efforts of employees, family, friends and clients, the firm wide summer hunger campaign raised equivalent funds to provide nearly 130,000 meals to hungry children and families across hometown office locations.
“The personal connection I share with this cause makes this even more important that we support ALA in memory of my wife’s late daughter Maddie,” said Joel Tragesser, partner at Quarles & Brady LLP and Quarles Climbers stair climb team captain. “We are encouraging fans, families, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and supporters to buy tickets for this hockey game and back this worthy cause.”
In 2015, the Quarles Climbers not only won the Law Firm Challenge trophy for the Fight for Air Stair Climb, but they increased donations by more than 50 percent. With the support of the community, friends, and the Indy Fuel, the Quarles Climbers for Maddie team would like to sign up 100 stair climbers and raise $30,000 for the 2017 stair climb.
