Quarles Names Mark Bina Chicago Office Managing Partner

News Release

(Chicago) – The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced today that Mark Bina has been named office managing partner for the firm’s Chicago office. He succeeds Eric Ledbetter, who will continue his successful practice as part of the firm's fast-growing Immigration team.

An experienced legal counselor and litigator, Bina represents clients in multiple industries, with a focus on health care providers. Representing a full range of health care providers and other businesses, he helps clients navigate disputes, investigations and litigation, health care regulatory and business issues as outside general counsel, and business litigation, dispute resolution and risk management.

"I thank Eric for his steady leadership of the Chicago office through the extreme challenge of COVID-19 as well as the recently completed Chicago office redesign." said Mike Aldana, firm chair and managing partner. "We are very grateful to Eric for his service and know that Mark will build on that success in his new role. Since joining Quarles in 2014, Mark has been recognized as a strong leader, mentor and terrific litigator."

In addition to his new role, Bina will continue as co-chair of the Health Litigation Practice Group. He has served as a board member and regular volunteer with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and was a hearing board member with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission from 2012 to 2022, a role to which he was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court.

“I’m honored by the vote of confidence, and I thank Eric setting a precedent for tremendous Chicago office leadership,” said Bina. "We have a great team of attorneys and business professionals in the office. I look forward to working even more closely with them and using my skillsets and relationships to grow Quarles in the Chicago community."

Bina has been listed to Illinois Super Lawyers® (Healthcare) since 2020. A graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, he earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University.
