Reed Baker, a Litigation & Dispute Resolution attorney in the Quarles & Brady Naples, Fla., office, has been selected to the Gulfshore Business 2026 “40 Under 40.” The list recognizes people in Southwest Florida who have made notable contributions in their professional and personal lives, including community involvement.
Baker is a member of the board of directors for the YMCA of Collier County; has organized and conducted basketball camps and clinics for children in Collier and Lee counties; and serves as pro bono counsel for several local nonprofits.
An excerpt:
Growing up, Reed Baker’s life revolved around basketball. However, thanks to mentors who reminded him to develop skills beyond the game, he ultimately chose the court of law over the basketball court.
As an attorney with Quarles & Brady LLP, Baker still enjoys competing.
“Litigation provides the highs and lows that can only come from competition. Litigating requires you to put in time, effort and thought to achieve a desired result, all while going against an adversary who generally wants a completely opposite result than you,” he says. “There’s also a problem-solving element that appeals to me — figuring out the facts, the law and the best strategy for them to fit together. That combination of competition and problem-solving is what drew me in and keeps me engaged.”
