Zach Eastburn Featured in Law.com Story About Career Insights from Litigators in Am Law Second Hundred Firms
Zach Eastburn, a Quarles & Brady partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group, was featured in a Law.com story about litigators in Am Law Second Hundred firms. The article highlights six litigators who recently became partners at Second Hundred law firms — which outperformed the Am Law 100 in major financial categories, including revenue per lawyer, profits per equity partner, compensation for all partners and profits per lawyer — and discuss the value of working for multiple partners.
An excerpt:
Eastburn, a commercial litigator based in Chicago, started at Quarles & Brady in 2016. He is a firm “lifer,” which he says is pretty common among his colleagues. “Many partners here are lifelong Quarles attorneys. Just this fall, we celebrated the retirement of a firm role model who spent his entire career—summer associate to partner—with Quarles,” he said.
He said the firm approaches hiring summer associate classes with an eye on long-term fit. He said because of that “draft and develop” mentality, he and others in his associate class have been consistently told they have a future at the firm. “Certainly, I’ve achieved many legal milestones over the past eight years, but much of that success is due to the firm’s originating belief that I had what it takes to be a partner here,” he said.
