Experienced, passionate national and local pro bono leadership
Dawn Caldart leads the firm’s pro bono efforts, with a focus on the program’s overall governance, risk management and sustainability. Her primary focus is on the business of pro bono, including areas such as policy and procedures, risk management, budgeting, marketing and PR. Dawn also manages the firm's relationships with numerous national and local pro bono partners, including a variety of legal aid organizations.
Since joining Quarles in 2014 as pro bono director, Dawn has been a tireless advocate for the importance of pro bono, both by finding creative ways to keep pro bono top of mind across the firm and by building strong relationships with external pro bono partners. Earlier in her career, Dawn was executive director of the Milwaukee Justice Center and legal services director of the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin, as well as an employment law partner at a Milwaukee firm.
Dawn leads at the intersection of law and social impact, designing innovative pro bono initiatives that address community needs while building strong partnerships with legal aid organizations, corporations and law schools. Her focus is on creating opportunities for attorneys to use their skills where they can make the greatest difference.
