Biography

Stephanie Vavra is a member of the Intellectual Property Group. With more than 15 years of experience, she has worked with a diverse range of life science clients, including universities, small and mid-size biotechnology companies, and large pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies to develop and implement patent strategies to advance business objectives.

Stephanie’s approach is that of problem solver, using her analytical and project management skills to create effective work flow throughout all matters. As a strategist, she guides clients in the management of complex patent portfolios with U.S. and foreign assets, and monitors portfolios to provide modifications to patent prosecution strategies across jurisdictions as business objectives evolve. As a tactician, Stephanie provides due diligence analysis related to the transfer of intellectual property and counsels clients in corporate sales and acquisition opportunities. Additionally, she provides comprehensive assessments for patentability, validity, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate. As a keen budget manager, she focuses on efficiency and identifying ways to help clients manage the profitability of their portfolios.

Stephanie’s practice also includes experience in international patent work, where she works collaboratively with foreign counsel and prosecutes international patent applications to achieve business outcomes within the global setting. She also has direct experience before U.S. Patent and Trademark Office examiners.
