Fox and DeAngelis Receive Patent Hub Honors for Pro Bono Services

CHICAGO, Ill. — Quarles & Brady LLP is pleased to announce that Chicago intellectual property attorneys Erin Fox and Justin DeAngelis are being recognized by the Patent Hub at Chicago-Kent College of Law for each contributing more than 50 hours of pro bono services to low income inventors in 2017. Additionally, the firm is being honored for contributing more than 100 hours of pro bono services. Legal secretary RoseAnn White is also being recognized by the Patent Hub for assisting with the preparation of USPTO Reports for the Patent Hub.

Fox oversees U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and coordinates with foreign associates to best protect her clients’ rights globally. She has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in the mechanical, electro-mechanical, business method, software, medical device, and design arts. Fox not only helps her clients protect their intellectual property assets, but she also aids them in enforcing and asserting their intellectual property rights. Erin drafts patent, trademark, and copyright cease and desist letters to help keep her clients out of complex litigation. She received her law degree from John Marshall Law School and her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

DeAngelis assists clients with their domestic and international patent portfolios with regard to patent preparation and prosecution, freedom to operate analyses, and infringement analyses for design and utility patents. Formerly a patent agent, his knowledge of the process for asserting patent rights allows him to guide clients to optimal solutions which align with and advance their business objectives. He received his law degree from the Chicago Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology and his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin.

A ceremony will be held at Chicago-Kent College of Law on April 5, 2018 where a USPTO representative will present certificates to those being honored.
