Kammerzelt and McCord Named 2017 Up and Coming Lawyers by Wisconsin Law Journal

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Quarles & Brady is pleased to announce that Jon Kammerzelt and Melissa McCord have been named 2017 Up and Coming Lawyers by the Wisconsin Law Journal.

To be named an Up and Coming lawyer, the nominees should represent determination in legal work, in community betterment, and in improving their own law firms, practice law for 8 years or less, and be on a fast track to making a significant impact on the legal profession,

Kammerzelt is a member of the firm's Health Law Practice Group in the Madison office. He advises hospitals and other health care providers on regulatory compliance matters and fraud and abuse laws (e.g., the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and False Claims Act). He also represents hospitals on medical staff issues and assists health care providers in responding to government investigations, surveys, and audits. He received his law degree, cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law, his master's in public administration from The Maxwell School of Syracuse University, and his bachelor's degree, highest honors, from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.

McCord is a member of the firm's Business Law Group in the Milwaukee office. She represents both lenders and borrowers in complex commercial finance transactions. She has extensive experience with secured transactions, syndicated facilities, asset-based facilities, mezzanine debt, international financing, asset securitizations, interest rate swap documentation, and third-party legal opinions. She received her law degree, summa cum laude, from Marquette University Law School, and her bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, from Ohio University.

The 35 honorees will be recognized on September 19 during a reception at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
