Partner Peter Spier Named Chair of Chicago Bar Association Business Transactions Committee

Chicago, IL — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Peter Spier, a Partner in the firm's Business Law practice group, has been appointed Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Business Transactions Committee for the 2020-21 Bar Year.

The Chicago Bar Association Business Transactions Committee addresses issues pertaining to business transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, restructurings and joint ventures, as well as the operation and formation of business entities. Committee and subcommittee meetings feature presentations by knowledgeable speakers and updates on legislative and case law developments.

Spier represents private equity funds, venture capital investors and privately-held companies in structuring and negotiating mergers & acquisitions, debt and equity financing transactions and myriad contractual arrangements. Additionally, he advises clients on a wide range of day-to-day operational, compliance and strategic issues, including serving as outside general counsel for many of his clients. Spier received his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude with a degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and his Juris Doctor from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
