Ensuring compliance to protect health care businesses

Christopher Dang advises health care businesses on regulatory and licensing matters. He helps clients on an array of issues, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), vendor contracting, practice compliance, HIPAA and state medical record/privacy requirements, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback compliance, and labor and employment issues. His clients include:

• Pharmacy benefits managers (PBM)

• Advises chain, regional and independent pharmacies on regulatory and licensing issues. Christopher frequently assists pharmacies with pharmacy requirements, supply chain, controlled substance (both DEA and state CSAs) and business licensing, including change of location (CHOL) and change of ownership (CHOW) requirements.

• Prepares and counsels clients when they receive a complaint or are under investigation. He defends health care facilities and professionals against regulatory and licensing board investigations and complaints.
• Advises pharmacy benefits managers (PBM), third-party administrators (TPA) and discount medical program organizations (DMPO) on regulatory and licensing matters. Christopher assists PBMs, TPAs and DMPOs on licensing, sponsor/marketer contracting, fraud/waste/abuse laws and operational compliance issues.
• Counsels physician practices on employment and operational matters. He works with physicians to ensure they have the best policies related to employment, shareholder agreements, compensation, hiring and termination negotiations, in-office dispensing and practice operations.
• Helps health care entities stay legally compliant during periods of reorganization. Christopher advises clients on compliance requirements during turnaround efforts, restructuring and bankruptcy.
