Jason Curry partners with clients to meet all their debt-related needs. He focuses primarily on distressed debt solutions, including workouts and restructurings, bankruptcy reorganizations, creditor’s rights litigation and appeals. Jason also represents lenders and borrowers in non-distress commercial loan transactions, with an emphasis on real estate loans. He has extensive experience representing:

  • Institutional lenders and commercial debtors in implementing workout and restructuring solutions.
  • Financial institutions and borrowers in documenting and closing real estate and commercial loan transactions.
  • Secured creditors and commercial debtors in navigating and achieving bankruptcy-related goals.

Jason is highly responsive to his clients’ needs. He has the unique capability to represent his clients in the full life cycle of a loan, from initial documentation and funding to all aspects of the distress loan sequence. His legal approaches and solutions are always aligned with a client’s business purposes, and he focuses on delivering insightful, cost-effective solutions. 

Jason is a former assistant United States attorney, where he represented the U.S. in a variety of defensive litigations, including medical malpractice, torts, bankruptcy, water law and Administrative Procedure Act appeals.

  • Represents creditors in collections litigation, receivership actions and foreclosures.
  • Represents both prosecution and defense of preference and fraudulent transfer claims on behalf of national lending institutions and as special counsel for bankruptcy trustees.


  • Represented a Catholic diocese on a successful reorganization and bankruptcy exit in six months with minimal administrative costs.
  • Represented a large private lender in a multijurisdictional, complex loan enforcement matter, involving a receivership, foreclosure, guaranty litigation, defense of alleged counterclaims and several appeals.
  • Represented a secured creditor in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy that resulted in full pay plan treatment.
  • Represented a secured creditor in receivership action that resulted in the successful sale of collateral and distribution of substantial proceeds to creditor.
  • Represented a creditor in a successful fraudulent avoidance action and foreclosure related to stock in a marijuana dispensary.
  • Represented secured creditors in fair market value evidentiary hearings where the court adopted the secured creditors’ values.
  • Represented a judgment creditor in collection of multiple million-dollar judgments in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Represented an international borrower group in providing a complex opinion letter on transaction and non-consolidation issues.
