Lauren McComis guides clients on patent prosecution for national and international patent portfolios. She has significant experience prosecuting applications both in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and filings under the Patent Cooperative Treaty. She has developed technical knowledge in areas such as:

- Develops and manages complex IP portfolios for clients operating within crowded patent landscapes, including industrial and heavy machinery, telecommunications, consumer electronics, hand-held motorized devices and computer software.
- Obtains IP assets for cutting-edge technologies, including: AI-based technologies, including AI Reasoning, agentic AI, and Edge AI; and Telecommunication technologies, including 5G, Open RAN (O-RAN) and virtual RAN (vRAN).
- Counsels clients on IP strategies for software-based technologies related to financial technology, consumer software and electronics, digital image processing, and AI-based functionality, including LLMs and prompt development.
- Prepares invalidity, patentability, freedom-to-operate and infringement opinions and analyses.
