Quarles Product Liability Team Conducts Mock Trial at AEM 2026 Product Safety & Stewardship Conference and Product Liability Seminar

News Release

Seven of the firm’s seasoned trial lawyers assembled in Kansas City to stage a full-day mock trial for over 150 attendees at the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ (AEM) 2026 Product Safety & Stewardship Conference and Product Liability Seminar. The firm lawyers participating were Patrick Nolan, Raymond Jamieson, Sara Scullen, Lars Gulbrandsen, Lora LoCoco, Sydney VanBerg and Lillian Mobley, all members of Quarles’ Product Liability Practice Group.

The mock trial involved a dramatic product liability wrongful death case and was structured like a real trial with opening statements, closing arguments, and presentations of fact, expert and corporate witnesses who faced both direct and cross examination. The audience acted as the jury and rendered its verdict through real-time polling. The exercise highlighted how product liability cases unfold at trial and addressed many common product liability issues involving product design, warnings and post-sale obligations for manufacturers.

Based in Milwaukee, AEM is a leading industry group comprised of agricultural, construction and industrial equipment manufacturers and includes many past, current and future firm clients.
